Last week, I had an anxiety being trapped in a burning house. Why? because I don't have keys for gril at the kitchen and front balcony which these two should be the exits during emergencies instead of the doors. Plus, I imagined that the horror thing could happen when my daughter together with me...
I quickly told my husband to find any way to kill the unused padlock and replace with a new one. he sighed at a moment. Dash!!.. then I
told him about my concerned and my scariest thought about to get my
daughter suffocate if we could not escape from the fire.. because I don't have the heart to see her suffer... Nauzubillah... Ya Allah, please protect me, my children and the rest of my family from such bad incidents.
The next day I
bought a small chainsaw / blade to cut off the padlock. But it was not
my job to get the job done. Of course my hubby has to settle the job...
In a few minutes, the padlocks were unlocked.. YAYYY!!! I'm so relieved and I can sleep well later on...
Please do not take for granted with you and your loves one safety. Here I would like to share some tips if you are trapped in a burning house.
1. Wet few towels and bring them along to a room / safe place. Don't forget to bring your phone too. Use one wet towel to cover your head, so that you can breath easily. When you are already in a room / safe place, put the wet towel to cover any hole that could bring smoke into the room eg: gap between door and floor. Call the fire bridged to save you there.
2. if the fire is at the lower level: don't go to the upper level. just maintain at the level but find the closet place / room that you can escape or to easy to be saved. And do as per item number (1).
3. If the fire is at the upper level. Just go to lower level to safe yourself. or do item number (2).
